LOVE IT!!! You nailed it! I volunteered (water station, whoop whoop!) & ran in the 1/29 SoCal race & I felt the same sentiments. I was very nervous the night before, intimidated when I was volunteering & became incredibly empowered during the race. I ran with my boyfriend who is 6’3 240lbs & my strength ‘wowed’ the both of us. Your blog brought back a rush of an awesome experience. And yes, the bucket of sand…a breeze!…I have a 65lb 4yr old. :-)
